COME PUNGONO LE MEDUSE
Le meduse, anche se soltanto sfiorate, attaccano immediatamente quello che considerano un predatore o, comunque, una qualche forma di minaccia, attaccandosi ad esso grazie alle numerose ventose, dette cnidocisti, che si trovano distribuite su tutta la loro superficie corporea.
Non appena detti cnidocisti entrano in contatto con un corpo estraneo, rilasciano, tramite appositi filamenti capaci di penetrare immediatamente la pelle, una sostanza che è la combinazione di tre diverse proteine (una urticante, una paralizzante e una neurotossica) che si diffondo rapidamente in tutto l’organismo.
SINTOMI DELLE PUNTURE DI MEDUSA
Il sintomo maggiormente rilevante è quello del dolore bruciante, simile a quello provocato da una scottatura, che si avverte nel punto di contatto, al quale fa seguito un fastidiosissimo prurito.
Altri sintomi minori, per i quali non occorre tuttavia allarmarsi, possono essere:
– edema
– vescicole
– nausea
– vomito
– spasmi muscolari
– reazioni allergiche.
Nel csso in cui, però, codesti sintomi fossero accompagnati da altri più gravi, che andremo adesso ad elencare, è bene rivolgersi immediatamente al più vicino ospedale:
– pallore
– sudurazione
– disorientamento
– difficoltà respiratorie.
RIMEDI CONTRO LE PUNTURE DI MEDUSA
