Il tumore ai testicoli è sempre più diffuso negli uomini del Nord e ad affermarlo è Carlo Foresta, professore dell’università di Padova, che illustra i risultati dell’ultimo studio della Fondazione Foresta di Padova, che ad AdnKronos inquadra l’attuale situazione in Italia, affermando che questa tipologia di cancro colpisce più la parte settentrionale del nostro Paese.
L’incidenza del tumore del testicolo aumenta del 2% all’anno nel nostro Paese. Nel Veneto si registra l’incremento più rilevante, che supera la media nazionale ma anche quella dei Paesi scandinavi, considerati fino ad oggi quelli a più alta incidenza per questo tipo di tumore. Il problema è che il maschio non si cura e non fa prevenzione, a differenza della donna
Ogni anno, come sottolinea l’esperto, sono circa 2400 i nuovi casi di tumore ai testicoli:
Quali siano le cause di questa tendenza non è ancora dimostrato, ma è innegabile una relazione tra le alterazioni della funzione testicolare e il forte inquinamento ambientale, come già documentato nei Paesi scandinavi. Negli ultimi anni la tendenza a un incremento sembra coinvolgere tutto il nostro Paese, ma in particolar modo il Nord Italia, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l’incidenza del tumore testicolare: a Nord 7,6, al Centro 7,1 e al Sud 6,4 ogni 100 mila residenti di tutte le età. Nel Veneto questo fenomeno risulta essere ancora più evidente: qui l’incidenza sale a 8,3 casi su 100 mila, e diventa ancora più elevata considerando solo la popolazione di giovani under 50, superando addirittura i Paesi scandinavi (12,3 contro 11,5), che sono ad oggi considerati come quelli a più elevata incidenza di questo tumore
