Le coccole della mamma sarebbero fondamentali per favorire lo sviluppo cerebrale del bambino. Carezze e baci, insomma, avrebbero notevoli effetti benefici sul cervello del piccolo, come afferma un nuovo studio condotto dal team di esperti dell’Emotional Brain Institute di New York, pubblicato sulla rivista eNeuro.


Lo studio, coordinato dalla psichiatra Catia Teixeira, è stato condotto su un gruppo di 24 cuccioli di topo. Dopo numerosi test, si è arrovati ad affermare che il contatto materno è in grado di aumentare nei cuccioli (e quindi anche nei neonati) l’attività della corteccia cingolata anteriore, una regione del cervello ricca di recettori della serotonina. Le affermazioni dei ricercatori:

I nostri risultati, quindi, evidenziano come il contatto materno e il sistema della serotonina siano importanti regolatori dell’attività neuronale nel cervello in via di sviluppo dei cuccioli
