Il sambuco è una pianta originaria dell’Europa e del Caucaso, la cui fioritura avviene nel periodo compreso tra aprile e giugno. I fiori di questa pianta possono essere usati per realizzare sciroppi e liquori, ma vengono usati anche in cucina in diverse ricette, inoltre possono essere messi a seccare ed utilizzati in inverno. Le proprietà disintossicanti del sambuco hanno portato al soprannome di “aspirina vegetale”.


Le tisane di sambuco sono molto diffuse per combattere raffreddore, reumatismi e influenza, ma questa pianta possiede anche proprietà diuretiche, lassative e antinevralgiche. Il sambuco è anche ricco di fibre e di principi attivi.

L’infuso di sambuco si rivela molto utile in diversi casi di affezione come scarlattina e morbillo, reumatismi e gotta. Si consiglia un infuso di sambuco con fiori di tiglio al presentarsi dei primi sintomi di influenza o raffreddore, così da provocare sudorazione ed abbassamento della febbre.

Nel periodo estivo si può invece preparare uno sciroppo di sambuco, prendendo 15 fiori di sambuco per ogni litro d’acqua, un limone tagliato a metà e spremuto e solo il succo di un limone. Quindi va messo tutto a macerare per 7 giorni al sole in un vaso di vetro coperto da un telo, dunque bisogna filtrare e aggiungere 1 kg di miele per ogni litro ed il succo di 5 limoni. Questo sciroppo può essere conservato in frigo e assunto diluito con acqua. Nelle diete dimagranti il sambuco si rivela utile per bruciare calorie e grasso soprattutto su girovita e pancia.
