Bruciore di stomaco? Il reflusso acido è un disturbo abbastanza frequente, che può essere passeggero o tendenzialmente cronicizzare. Molto dipende dalle cause, ma la stragrande maggioranza delle volte si tratta di un problema curabile o quanto meno prevenibile. Ecco qualche consiglio semplice e pratico.

Il termine “reflusso” in gastroenterologia indica il risalire verso l’esofago da parte dei succhi gastrici attivi abitualmente nello stomaco. Ne consegue una sensazione di bruciore piuttosto fastidiosa che di per se stessa non può essere considerata come una patologia, ma che alla lunga se non trattata o mal gestita può irritare il rivestimento dell’esofago e provocare (o essere provocata ) la malattia da reflusso gastroesofageo (GERD).  Il più delle volte, i pazienti possono gestire i loro sintomi con un migliore stile di vita e modifiche nella dieta. Esistono anche farmaci da banco che aiutano a ridurre i sintomi. Tuttavia, alcune persone possono avere bisogno di un trattamento più forte o addirittura di interventi chirurgici per superare il bruciore di stomaco cronico. Il trattamento inadeguato può portare fino gravi complicazioni a lungo termine. Se si verificano i sintomi di reflusso acido, consultare un medico per ottenere quanto prima una diagnosi accurata e di ricevere un trattamento efficace. Nel frattempo ecco u elenco di semplici strategie quotidiane che possono aiutare a ridurre i fastidi.

  1. Rimanere attivi: cercate di fare un minimo di attività motoria tutti i giorni. Farà bene alla salute in generale, ed aiuterà a perdere peso, cosa che certamente aiuterà a ridurre i sintomi del reflusso.
  2. NON fumare. Una delle cause del reflusso è la debolezza dei muscoli dello stomaco e dell’esofago. La nicotina è una sostanza che può causare questa debolezza. Anche il fumo passivo va evitato per gli stessi motivi, oltre a tutti gli altri rischi connessi alla salute.
  3. Non mangiare a tarda notte! E a cena, prediligere pietanze leggere e facilmente digeribili.
  4. Limitare il consumo di alcol. Vino, birra o superalcolici possono peggiorare il reflusso.
  5. Evitare -sempre- pasti grassi: patatine ed altri cibi fritti, salse, formaggi e similari, rallentano il tempo di svuotamento dello stomaco. Questo permette agli acidi di risalire più facilmente.
  6. Bere acqua. Evitare bevande gassate, ma anche spremute e succhi di frutta agli agrumi e/o pomodoro o menta, si tratta di sostanze acide che aumentano il problema.
  7. Da evitare anche cibi piccanti, ed alcune spezie a partire dalle comuni cipolle ed aglio che in alcune persone possono aumentare il bruciore di stomaco.
  8. In generale evitare le abbuffate
  9. Limitare caffé, cioccolato o dolci
  10. Evitare il riposino dopo i pasti: rallenta la digestione, ed in più da sdraiati l’acido risale più facilmente.

 

Con questi piccoli cambiamenti, nella routine quotidiana si può tenere lontano il bruciore di stomaco anche se si soffre di malattia da reflusso gastroesofageo.
