L‘ibuprofene è un FANS, ovvero un Farmaco Antinfiammatorio Non Steroideo: serve a ridurre l’infiammazione ed il conseguente dolore dovuto a varie cause. E’ indicato infatti per ridurre la febbre (che è dovuta ad una reazione-infiammatoria-degli anticorpi agli agenti infettivi), il mal di testa, il mal di schiena, i crampi mestruali ed i disturbi legati all’artrite nelle sue varie forme. E’ un farmaco da banco ed il suo utilizzo è permesso sia negli adulti che nei bambini, anche se ovviamente con dosi (e formulazioni) diverse. Ovviamente come tutti i medicinali non è scevro effetti collaterali o controindicazioni, specie se se ne abusa: l’ibuprofene infatti può aumentare il rischio di un attacco cardiaco o di un ictus, soprattutto se lo si utilizza per molto tempo o in dosi elevate; il rischio aumenta per chi soffre di malattie cardiache: va evitato prima o dopo un intervento di bypass cardiaco ad esempio. Gli effetti collaterali possono essere lievi o seri, passeggeri o meno. Ecco quali sono.

Effetti collaterali ibuprofene: i più comuni

Comunemente l’ibuprofene può comportare emorragia, vomito, abbassamento dei valori dell’emoglobina, ipertensione, eosinofilia, e anemia. Altri effetti indesiderati comprendono: vertigini, dispepsia ed emorragia del tratto gastrointestinale superiore, anche con ulcera. In particolare quest’ultima  condizione può essere pericoosa e manifestarsi all’improvviso, specie nelle persone anziane. Non sono comunque questi gli unici eventi avversi possibili ed alcuni sono più pericolosi di altri. Di seguito una lista più completa e dettagliata.

  • Tosse o raucedine

  • Difficoltà a deglutire

Effetti collaterali minori

Alcuni degli effetti indesiderati che possono verificarsi con l’ibuprofene non sono gravi, possono non necessitare il contatto con il medico e tendono a passare da soli con la sospensione del farmaco o durante il trattamento, quando l’organismo si è abituato ai principi attivi.  Tra questi troviamo più comunemente:
