Il diritto alla salute, diritto fondamentale di ogni uomo e donna del pianeta che, in quanto tale, andrebbe goduto, senz’alcuna difficoltà, da tutti gli italiani quale che sia la loro condizione economica piuttosto che sociale, sarebbe al Sud, purtroppo, ancora lungi dal venir applicato, con costanza, senz’alcuna discriminazione.

A lanciare l’allarme, nel corso di un interessante convegno sull’argomento che si sarebbe in questi giorni svolto a Roma, sarebbe stata la Società Italiana di Pediatria che, confermando come al Sud vi siano quasi due milioni di bambini poveri (con una percentuale di incidenza, rispetto alla popolazione benestante di tutto il Sud Italia, addirittura più che doppia che in qualsiasi altra regione geografica italiana), avrebbe tenuto a ribadire che, nonostante tutto, crescere al Sud è ancora, purtroppo, un percorso ricco di ostacoli e difficoltà.

E i problemi, per tutti i bambini del Sud Italia, comincerebbero, purtroppo, ancor prima di venir alla luce poiché, come sarebbe chiaramente emerso dalle più recente statistiche sull’argomento, al Sud, ed in particolare in Campania, si verificherebbe il maggior numero di parti cesarei in assoluto.

Da li in poi, purtroppo, una sequela di inenarrabili discriminazioni (dall’impossibilità, pressoché totale, di accedere ad un qualsiasi asilo nido pubblico o privato alla scarse possibilità di adesione ai più adeguati programmi vaccinali, dall’eccessivo accesso ad esami diagnostici inappropriati ed invasivi alle maggiori possibilità di accesso a comportamenti errati quali il fumo piuttosto che la cattiva o la scarsa alimentazione) causate, in maniera pressoché esclusiva, proprio dalla povertà cui sarebbero costretti dalle proprie condizioni economiche e sociali.
