La protesi mobile, comunemente nota come dentiera, è una soluzione comune ed economica in caso di perdita dei denti (parziale o totale). E’ fondamentale non solo per l’estetica della bocca, ma anche ovviamente per la salute derivante da una buona masticazione dei cibi. Può però far male, provocare dolore. Specie all’inizio, può innescare gonfiore alle gengive, piaghette rosse o macchie bianche da candidosi; altresì può dar luogo ad ipersalivazione o alla sensazione contraria di bocca asciutta. Quali cause? E soprattutto quali rimedi naturali e domestici si possono applicare per ridurre al minimo questo disagio?

Almeno il 50 per cento dei portatori di protesi mobile verifica dei problemi nella fase iniziale di adattamento. Le cause più comuni sono da ricercare in una proliferazione batterica (della bocca da sola o in relazione alla dentiera e all’ igiene orale non adeguata), alla struttura del dispositivo, non perfettamente adattata, alla scarsa qualità dei materiali utilizzati, o all’assunzione di cibi eccessivamente duri che hanno arrecato danno alla protesi. E ‘vero che le protesi non possono adattarsi da subito come un guanto, e che con il tempo le cose miglioreranno, ma questo non significa necessariamente dover sopportare dolore e disagio. Alcuni semplici e facili rimedi casalinghi possono decisamente aiutare, nella prevenzione e nella cura.

 

1. Sale

Un ottimo rimedio naturale per i portatori di protesi durante la fase di adattamento è il sale: aiuta a ridurre il gonfiore ed il dolore alle gengive, inibisce il proliferare dei batteri nel cavo orale e riduce il rischio di boccasecca. Come utilizzarlo? Sciogliere un cucchiaino di sale in acqua tiepida e utilizzare la soluzione per rischiacqui 2 volte al giorno.

2. Chiodi di garofano

L’Eugenolo, l’ingrediente principale di chiodi di garofano, ha proprietà antinfiammatorie e antalgiche. Così, funziona come antidolorifico e aiuta anche a disinfettare la bocca. Utilizzare chidi di garofano in polvere (o macinati): mescolare con dell’olio di oliva e applicare la soluzione sulle gengive gonfie e doloranti. Attendere 5 minuti, quindi risciacquare con acqua tiepida per 2 volte al giorno fino alla risoluzione del disagio.

3. Bustine di tè nero

Il tè nero è ricco di acido tannico, dalle proprietà astringenti, che aiuta a ridurre il dolore e gonfiore delle gengive e a contenere la proliferazione batterica. Basta applicare sulle gengive per circa 10-15 minuti una bustina di tè nero appena utilizzata e tiepida (non bollente) e poi sciacquare.  Ripetere l’operazione un paio di volte al giorno.

 

4. Curcuma

Per ridurre il dolore durante la masticazione, la curcuma può essere d’aiuto grazie alle sue proprietà antidolorifiche, antiossidanti e anti-infiammatorie: mescolare curcuma in polvere con un po d’acqua ed applicare la pasta che ne risulta sulle gengive dolenti, lasciando riposare qualche minuto e poi massaggiando con delicatezza. A fine operazione risciacquare con acqua tiepida. Il tutto andrebbe fatto almeno 2 volte al giorno per una settimana.

 

5. Aloe Vera

Ha proprietà anti-infiammatorie ed antibatteriche che possono limitare la crescita di batteri nocivi nella bocca, lenire le gengive infiammate e ridurre il dolore. Basta aprire una foglia di aloe vera ed estrarre il gel da applicare sulle gengive dolenti con un batuffolo di cotone. Lasciare in posa per circa 10 minuti e poi risciacquare con acqua fresca. Evitare di mangiare qualsiasi cosa per 1 ora. Ripetere 2 o 3 volte al giorno fino alla scomparsa del dolore. Utile bere una soluzione di aloe vera invece contro la secchezza delle fauci.
