Calcio e vitamina D inutili nel trattamento post menopausa

pianteL’arrivo della menopausa si presenta associato a una serie di sintomi diversi che possono essere contrastati anche efficacemente con l’aiuto dei farmaci o dei rimedi naturali giusti. 

Molto spesso con l’arrivo della menopausa viene consigliato di assumere calcio e vitamina D, utili soprattutto per poter ridurre il rischio di sviluppare l’osteoporosi. Attenzione però perché sembra proprio che assumere quantità supplementari di calcio e vitamina D sia praticamente inutile per contrastare i sintomi post menopausa.

Lo suggerisce uno studio americano condotto dai ricercatori del Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute dell’Harbor-UCLA Medical Center a Torrance, in California che hanno condotto la ricerca su un campione di 1.911 donne già entrate in postmenopausa.

Scopo dello studio era capire se effettivamente calcio e vitamina D potessero realmente essere utili per poter migliorare i sintomi della menopausa, gonfiori e dolori in particolare. A tal proposito le donne sono state suddivise in due gruppi. A uno è stato somministrato il carbonato di Calcio con vitamina D3, all’altro gruppo un placebo.

Alla fine dello studio, trascorsi i due anni previsti, le analisi hanno dimostrato che tra l’uso quotidiano del supplemento e quello del placebo, i risultati sono stati praticamente identici andando a ridurre il dolore e il gonfiore post meno pausa di circa il 70%.

FITOTERAPIA CONTRO GLI EFFETTI DELLA MENOPAUSA

Insomma non esisterebbe una differenza concreta negli effetti che si riscontrano fra l’assunzione di calcio e vitamina e placebo: gli effetti ottenuti sono praticamente gli stessi. 
Pubblicati sulla rivista Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, i dati dello studio mostrano che gli effetti riscontrati erano gli stessi anche al di là di una serie di fattori variabili, come l’età delle donne, l’indice di massa corporea (BMI), la razza, ma anche lo stile di vita (sedentarietà o l’attività fisica).

Insomma apparentemente sembra proprio che assumere calcio e vitamina D non sia assolutamente utile nel trattamento post menopausa anche se lo studio non ha preso in considerazione l’assunzione disgiunta per verificare eventuali effetti positivi sui sintomi.
