Una laurea per combattere obesità e diabete? Detta così suona in modo strano, tuttavia la decima edizione dell’Italian Diabetes & Obesity Barometer Report punta i riflettori sulla importanza di un grado di istruzione elevato per tenere alla larga patologie che sono considerate soprattutto sociali.
Ci sarebbe dunque una correlazione tra titolo di studi e diabete e obesità e le persone con un titolo di studio più basso sarebbero quelle maggiormente a rischio di essere colpite da queste due malattie. Diabete e obesità colpiscono soprattutto quanti si trovano nella fascia d’età tra i 45 e i 64 anni ed è stata proprio questa fascia di età quella presa in considerazione dai ricercatori che hanno poi affermato l’importanza di una laurea per tenere alla larga diabete e obesità (che sono poi due patologie strettamente correlate tra di loro).
DIETA MIMA DIGIUNO PER COMBATTERE IL DIABETE
Per quanto riguarda le persone malate di diabete, tra queste solo il 2,9% ha una laurea, quattro su cento è diplomato e uno su dieci ha la terza media. Molto simile la situazione per chi soffre di obesità: solo una persona su tre è laureata, quattro su dieci sono diplomate e la metà ha la licenza media. In generale, sostengono i ricercatori, il titolo di studio è indice di uno stile di vita positivo e che aiuta a difendersi dalle cattive abitudini che molto spesso sono quelle che inducono le persone a seguire abitudini di vita sbagliate cominciando per esempio a ingrassare a dismisura. Istruirsi e conseguire un titolo di studio elevato potrebbe invece essere un buon strumento per difendersi da alcune malattie.
