La bufala dei farmaci ritirati per ordine del tribunale

Ho ricevuto anch’io via Whatsapp, da amici preoccupati, un audio e una foto che testimonierebbero come un tribunale italiano abbia ordinato il ritiro di alcuni farmaci contenenti il principio attivo della Ranitidina.

Come sempre, ho risposto con un semplice pollicione, solo per essere cortese, e non ho più badato al messaggio. Ma ora arriva l’allarme dell’Agenzia italiana del farmaco (Aifa), perché evidentemente la bufala ha avuto una diffusione enorme, tanto da far lanciare l’allarme per la diffusione di questa lista sui social.

In realtà non si tratta di una bufala vera e propria, ma di un eccesso di cautela che riguarda la lista pubblicata qualche giorno fa.

C’è infatti un provvedimento restrittivo che riguarda alcuni farmaci contenenti Ranitidina, ma la lista diffusa include anche alcuni farmaci che nulla hanno a che vedere con questi provvedimenti. Il provvedimento infatti, include solo farmaci contenenti questa sostanza.

La lista sui social

La lista sui social include invece molti più farmaci, e per questo l’Aifa ha suggerito tramite i media di consultare il proprio sito, anziché seguire i social. C’è una pagina apposita, ora sul sito, che l’Aifa ha deciso di pubblicare proprio per non far cadere in inganno gli utenti.

Sempre l’Aifa precisa che i provvedimenti sono figli del riordino dei medicinali fatta dalle Ema (Agenzia europea dei Medicinali) il 12 settembre di quest’anno. I provvedimenti sono scattati perché alcuni di questi farmaci erano contaminati con impurità n-nitrosodimetilammina (Ndma).

I farmaci sono stati già ritirati dal mercato, e il distributore nazionale è stato sottoposto al provvedimento. È vero che l’audio inviato via Whatsapp, in cui si sente una signora parlare, avverte che i farmaci sono stati già ritirati dalle farmacie e vuole solo avvertire chi ne ha in casa ed è inconsapevole del ritiro.

L’Aifa ha anche precisato le motivazioni che hanno portato alla contaminazione dei farmaci. Le impurità n-nitrosodimetilammina (nmda) della classe delle nitrosammine era comparsa l’anno scorso in alcuni medicinali anti-ipertensivi (Sartani). La contaminazione sembra essere avvenuta in fabbriche diverse dalla principale Saraca Laboratories Ltd, ma soltanto delle analisi approfondite chiariranno, senza alcun dubbio, come sia stato possibile contaminare i farmaci.
