Al Niguarda di Milano è stata effettuata un’operazione chirurgica per un paziente senza anestesia, ma usando l’ipnosi. Ad essere operato un paziente di circa 80 anni, ma i medici avvertono che non tutti sono idonei a questo tipo di “sedazione”.
Si trattava comunque di un’operazione della durata di un’ora che consisteva nel semplice inserimento di cateteri per la sostituzione della valvola aortica. Si tratta di un intervento di routine, che però ha visto la grande novità dell’assenza di sedazione. I cateteri inseriti contenevano una valvola di bio-materiale auto-espandibile, e l’intervento è considerato poco invasivo.
A parlarne è stato il cardiochirurgo Giuseppe Bruschi, che ha eseguito l’intervento:
“Il punto di accesso è l’arteria femorale da qui sotto guida angioscopica e fluorografica, navigando nei vasi sanguigni, si raggiunge la valvola cardiaca danneggiata che viene sostituita da quella nuova che viene sfilata dal catetere”.
Perché l’ipnosi
I giornalisti si sono chiesti perché si è ricorsi all’ipnosi, e la risposta è molto semplice. La paziente soffre di una broncopneumopatia ostruttiva ai polmoni, con una polmonite piuttosto recente che la poneva a rischio in caso di anestesia. Ecco così che si è preferita l’ipnosi, anche perché vi sarebbero stati dei problemi per l’intubazione dovuti ad una particolare conformazione anatomica di cui il collo della paziente soffre. Questa particolare conformazione poteva comportare ulteriori rischi in caso di problemi durante l’operazione.
La dottoressa che ha eseguito l’ipnosi spiega la genesi della decisione. La dottoressa specialista dell’Anestesia e Rianimazione 3, Sandra Nonini, ha affermato:
“Ho sentito parlare per la prima volta di ipnosi durante un’esperienza lavorativa in Francia dove questa pratica è molto utilizzata, non solo per procedure chirurgiche, ma anche per quelle di tipo ambulatoriale, come ad esempio le medicazioni nei gravi ustionati. Incuriosita da questa tecnica mi sono avvicinata al mondo dell’ipnosi usata in ambito medico e oggi mi sto specializzando presso un centro a Torino”.
Come si riesce a non far sentire dolore al paziente lo spiega la stessa dottoressa. Si tratta di una tecnica di focalizzazione dell’attenzione per modificare lo stato di coscienza e alzare la soglia del dolore.
Si lavora sulla respirazione, portando la paziente in un “luogo sicuro” della sua mente, in uno stato di trance.
