Per ridurre i possibili danni della carne rossa sul nostro organismo è bene mangiare assieme delle verdure, come rivelato dagli scienziati neozelandesi del Plant and Food Research Institute, che hanno pubblicato i risultati della loro ricerca sul Journal of Food Science.
Gli studiosi hanno preso in esame una dieta ricca di carne rossa, consumata da sola ed accompagnata da verdura ricca di fibra fermentabile. L’impatto della carne rossa sull’intestino animale è risultato molto diverso se la carne veniva assunta da sola oppure accompagnata dalla verdura, oppure da patate e frutta. Nel secondo caso l’impatto sul metabolismo intestinale era molto meno dannoso, riducendo la produzione di sottoprodotti nocivi del metabolismo intestinale.
Come affermato dalla dottoressa Chrissie Butts, le proteine che assumiamo possono influenzare il metabolismo del microbiota nell’intestino e quindi la salute intestinale.
