Ogni stagione è contraddistinta da diversi tipi di frutta, in autunno si possono trovare mele, pere, fichi, uva, arance, mandarini, melograni, cachi e fichi d’india oltre a castagne, noci, mandorle, datteri e nocciole.

Ogni frutto ha le sue caratteristiche, per esempio le mele grazie all’alto contenuto di flavonoidi hanno effetti antinfiammatori e antiossidanti. Inoltre sono molto ricche di vitamina A, C e vitamine del gruppo B.


Kiwi, albicocche e uva secca, noci e castagne contengono molto potassio, le pere contengono molti sali minerali e sono diuretiche, depurative ed anche leggermente sedative. Pure i fichi contengono potassio, ma anche calcio e fibre, la buccia avrebbe anche funzioni digestive. Le antocianine contenute nell’uva rossa prevengono e ritardano l’invecchiamento e riducono il rischio di malattie cardiovascolari e di alcuni tumori. I fichi aiutano a tenere in salute il tratto urinario, proteggono la circolazione venosa e migliorano la memoria.

Gli agrumi ovviamente contengono molta vitamina C, sono antiossidanti naturali che difendono e proteggono il sistema immunitario, inoltre gli agrumi contengono anche molte fibre alimentari. Un frutto molto ricco di sali minerali è il melograno, che ha grosse quantità di potassio, manganese, zinco, rame e fosforo; ferro, sodio e calcio ma anche di vitamine, A, B, C, E e K e di flavonoidi antiossidanti. Il caco è un frutto molto ricco di beta-carotene, vitamina C e potassio, ha funzioni diuretiche, elimina i calcoli renali e abbassa i livelli del colesterolo. Il fico d’India contiene invece calcio, fosforo e vitamina C. L’uva contiene in grandi dosi vitamine (A, B, C), tannini (nella buccia) e polifenoli, l’uva ha proprietà antiossidanti e anticancro.
