Secondo le più recenti statistiche divulgate dalla Società Italiana di Medicina Generale, circa il 25% della popolazione italiana, ovverosia circa 15 milioni di cittadini, soffrirebbe di gravi disturbi di stomaco.

► SINDROME DELL’INTESTINO IRRITABILE

Tra di essi troviamo il bruciore di stomaco, vari e diffusi problemi digestivi, gonfiori addominali, stitichezza, ed altri simili problemi minori, che però, troppo, spesso, vengono totalmente ignorati rischiando di divenire veri e propri disagi clinici molto difficili e molto costosi da curare.

Si stima, infatti, che, nel corso del 2010, la spesa complessiva per problemi connessi ai disagi sopra esposti, siano stati spesi ben 3400 milioni di euro, facendo conquistare all’apparato digerente la medaglia d’argento per quanto riguarda la spesa medica italiana.

Cifre da capogiro, dunque, il cui costo pro capite è decisamente elevato, che potrebbero venir drasticamente ridotte con un adeguata prevenzione o, in alternativa, recandosi dal medico o dal farmacista, al comparire dei primi sintomi, così da ottenerne validi consigli ed una pronta guarigione.

Per sensibilizzare la popolazione italiane sul delicato argomento, comunque, la Società Italiana di Medicina Generale avvierà, a partire dal 1 novembre e per tutto il mese, la campagna “Stomaco e intestino al centro della tua salute”.

Chiunque aderirà alla campagna in questione potrà recarsi presso la più vicina farmacia ed effettuare, gratuitamente, un test che indaghi le proprie abitudini alimentari e la presenza, o meno, dei suddetti disturbi.

Dai risultati, poi, in concerto con il farmacista, si potrà elaborare la più adeguata strategia di automedicazione, nonché ricevere consigli adeguati alla nostra particolare situazione.
