È quanto sostiene un nuovo studio statunitense (dell’Università della Georgia ad Atene) pubblicato sulla rivista ‘Annals of Family Medicine’ e ricavato da una revisione di 19 indagini precedenti: la tosse di ogni tipo e senza complicazioni (malattie di carattere respiratorio) dura in media fra i 15 ed i 28,6 giorni, con una media di 18 giorni.
Tra l’altro essendo la maggior parte della volte di origine virale e non batterica, la tosse non risponde neppure all’uso degli antibiotici. È proprio questo uno dei problemi fondamentali. La maggior parte delle persone tendono a credere che dopo pochi giorni (anche dopo 5 o 6) sia necessario assumere degli antibiotici per potersi curare, quando invece in molti casi sono del tutto inutili in questo caso e dannosi per la salute.
