La Settimana Nazionale della Celiachia è partita sabato scorso e si concluderà questa domenica, con tante iniziative in tutto il mondo. La celiachia è ormai molto diffusa, una malattia cronica che tra 30 anni colpirà, secondo gli esperti, 90 milioni di persone.
Non solo però, non si trovano cure, ma non si riesce nemmeno a diagnosticare. In Italia le diagnosi sono infatti ferme al 30% delle 600mila persone che si pensa ne soffrano.
Questa settimana, organizzata dall’Associazione italiana celiachia onlus (Aic), vuole appunto porre rimedio a questa lacuna, informando e sensibilizzando la popolazione.
Le iniziative
Lo slogan lanciato dall’Associazione è: “La celiachia si nasconde, sai dove trovarla? Una settimana per capire meglio come trovare i pazienti nascosti”, a rimarcare il fatto che solo il 30% dei casi vengono diagnosticati. Una malattia difficile da scoprire dunque, anche per la sua peculiarità. È difficile individuare i malati perché spesso i sintomi iniziali non portano alla diagnosi, essendo diversi da quelli classici della malattia.
Per questo, la settimana prevede pranzi didattici gluten free, incontri con nutrizionisti, letture e convegni medici.
