Esistono delle malattie molto rare che si manifestano a causa di alcuni caratteri recessivi che si manifestano al momento del concepimento e generano alla nascita delle patologie cosiddette genetiche, per esempio la sindrome da anticorpi fosfolipidi, la malattia di cui soffre la cantante Lady Gaga, ma che però non si palesano sull’aspetto fisico del bambino.
Ci sono invece altre malattie genetiche che sembrano dei veri e propri scherzi della natura e che possono essere causati anche da una malformazione fetale; questo è il caso della bambina che è nata con quattro gambe e quattro braccia a causa di un gemello “parassita” che non si è sviluppato del tutto, ma si è annidato nel corpo della bambina.



La piccola Lakshmi Tatma ha quattro anni e due anni fa è stata sottoposta ad un difficile e complicato intervento di chirurgia eseguito da un’equipe composta da 30 chirurghi, in una clinica privata di Narayana Health City, vicino a Bangalore, in cui le hanno asportato gli arti in più.
Ne parliamo oggi perchè è balzata agli onori della cronaca a causa della prima puntata di Plastik, programma di Italia Uno andato in onda lo scorso 19 aprile, in cui la conduttrice Elena Santarelli ha ripercorso il calvario della bambina indiana che oggi finalmente vive una vita normale.
La puntata ha toccato molto i telespettatori che hanno potuto vedere il video della bambina con quattro braccia e quattro gambe e di tutto il percorso che ha dovuto seguire per arrivare ad avere una vita normale anche se il percorso della riabilitazione durerà ancora per diversi anni.
