Purtroppo l’Alzheimer è una malattia sempre più diffusa, e soprattutto la società è sempre più frenetica, limitando così l’assistenza da parte della famiglia ai malati.
Malati che d’altra parte sono nella condizione addirittura di dimenticare i volti familiari, e necessitano comunque di un’assistenza specializzata e costante, ma soprattutto costosa. E proprio questi fattori stanno indirizzando i ricercatori verso le soluzioni offerte dall’intelligenza artificiale.
Il robot
Il robot per assistere i malati di Alzheimer sembra essere il futuro per risolvere molte problematiche, tra cui i costi e la copertura H24 dell’assistenza. Sarà un esoscheletro umanoide dotato di intelligenza artificiale che girerà per casa tutto il tempo, con le braccia per aiutare materialmente il malato. Potrà interagire con il malato e addirittura giocare la carta della simpatia. Il progetto sarà presentato a dicembre, dal CNR e dalla fondazione Francesco Balsano.
È uno sforzo dei ricercatori dell’università Federico II di Napoli, derivato dal giapponese Pepper, già operativo nel Sol Levante.
È dotato di riconoscimento facciale tramite telecamere speciali che possono anche monitorare i movimenti del corpo. La sua intelligenza riconosce l’umore e lo fa reagire alle varie situazioni. Può capire se il malato non ha preso le medicine, se non si nutre o si nutre troppo, e adattarsi ad altre situazioni potenzialmente pericolose per il malato.
Da gennaio si avvierà la sperimentazione su 40 volontari, che avranno un robot ciascuno per valutare le sue performance.
