Consigli per evitare l’influenza

Gli esperti hanno già anticipato che il picco dell’influenza si verificherà proprio nel periodo che va da Natale a Capodanno: fino a questo momento l’influenza di stagione ha già colpito 228 mila persone, ma si prevede che l’arrivo improvviso della gelida aria scandinava farà impennare ulteriormente il numero degli italiani che dovranno fare i conti con l’influenza in questi giorni.

E al di là della partenza in ritardo della campagna antinfluenzale ad essere più colpiti in questi ultimi giorni sembrano essere stati proprio i bambini.

A causare l’influenza di quest’anno sono tre virus: si tratta dell’H1N1 (dell’influenza suina in pratica) e due nuove, varianti, la H3N2 (Victoria) e  il virus B\Wisconsin. Al di là del vaccino è anche consigliabile seguire una serie di regole-consigli molto semplici da seguire che possono aiutare a tenere lontano influenza e virus parainfluenzali.

INFLUENZA 2013 PREVISTA MOLTO AGGRESSIVA

Innanzitutto è bene lavarsi bene le mani che resta il metodo più efficace per evitare le infezioni, soprattutto quando si ha a che fare con anziani o malati.

Consigliato anche muoversi (è sufficiente tre volte a settimana per circa 30 minuti ogni volta) perché è provato che l’attività motoria riesce a stimolare la produzione di citochine che potenziano l’attività dei globuli bianchi: bene lo sport, ma è sufficiente anche una semplice camminata veloce.

In questo periodo meglio evitare le diete eccessive perché un’alimentazione equilibrata aumenta anche le difese immunitarie.

DIETA PER PREVENIRE L’INFLUENZA

Consigliabile anche evitare lo stress che va ad aumentare la produzione di cortisolo che a sua volta aumenta la disponibilità alle infezioni: sarebbe bene dedicarsi ad attività rilassanti come lo yoga o il pilates o semplicemente imparare a rilassarsi e a prendersi cura di sé stessi.

Attenzione anche alle temperature: le forti escursioni termiche possono bloccare il regolare funzionamento delle ciglia che rivestono le cellule dei bronchi e dei polmoni e che di regola respingono i virus e i batteri. È bene mantenere una temperatura standard intorno ai 21-23 gradi anche in casa e mantenere un tasso di umidità che dovrebbe essere pari al 60% (grazie al deumidificatore o alle vaschette con l’acqua vicino ai termosifoni) per evitare la secchezza di mucose e saliva.

Per facilitare anche il ricambio d’aria è anche consigliabile aprire le finestre un paio di volte al giorno.
